Comfortable, inviting garden and noise of the stream, food nutritional, owners quite and unassuming.
I emailed/called Kersty in mid-June to book two nights in a queen room with ensuite for the second weekend in August for my boyfriend and I to celebrate our fifth year anniversary. I received a frantic call two weeks before we were due to arrive to advise that we had been double booked and could not be accommodated. Kersty was extremely apologetic and had gone out of her way to find another B&B in the area that could accommodate us. However, due to the short notice, we could only stay in our desired room type the first night and needed to move the second night to a twin bed room (not ideal for an anniversary) with shared washroom. While the effort was appreciated, the fact remains that we ended up in a worse position (with a savings of only $20 total between the two nights) due to their error. When I asked politely if any further compensation could be considered, Kersty declined, saying she had done everything that she was willing to do. She did offer to provide us the hiking drop off that we had previously arranged, but advised that she would still be charging for it. At an estimated cost of approximately $10, I was somewhat taken aback at this suggestion and stopped responding. While I'm sure this B&B is lovely, please know that if there is an issue with your reservation, even at the sole account of the host, only minimal effort will be afforded to make it right.
